My HASP key isn't working

If your HASP key is plugged in but your installation of Ignition is not licensed then there are a few steps you can take to make sure it works correctly.

1. Check that the light on the HASP key is lit. If it is not, you will need to install the HASP driver. You can get that through the Ignition installer or online (HASP HL Driver).
2. Make sure you are using the right version of Java. If you are using 64-bit Ignition, then you must have Ignition using the 64-bit version of Java. You can check this by opening Windows Explorer and going into the 'Program Files\Java\jre6' folder ( NOT 'Program Files (x86)' ) and check for a java.exe file. This means you have it installed, but the second step is to make sure Ignition is using the right one. In the install directory (typically C:\Program Files\Inductive Automation\Ignition\) there is a file called 'ignition.conf' that should contain the following line. Note that there is no (x86) in the Program Files folder name.
   wrapper.java.command=C:/Program Files/Java/jre6/bin/java.exe
   If you made any changes, restart Ignition.
